About the Pale-crowned Cisticola

The pale-crowned cisticola (Cisticola cinnamomeus) is a species of bird in the family Cisticolidae. Cisticola cinnamomeus was split from Cisticola brunnescens (pectoral-patch cisticola); since 2000 it has been recognised as a separate species by most world bird-listing authorities.

It is found in Africa from eastern South Africa to Gabon and Tanzania. Its natural habitats are damp or marshy areas in upland grassland. Pectoral-patch cisticola - Species text in The Atlas of Southern African Birds. Wikipedia →

Global Distribution

Where this species is recorded worldwide. Restricted to human observations from 2019 onwards — the same kind of record and the same period the probabilities on this page are built from, so collar-tracking studies, camera-trap arrays and museum specimens are excluded. Around Santa Rosa that removes 5,924 GPS fixes from a handful of tagged jaguars.
