What visitors saw
The jungle itself was a bit light on creatures, but we did see a few toucans and a couple of giant lizards wandering around without a care in the world.
During our drive we saw roadside warning signs that pointed out local wildlife: coatis, wild cats, things you definitely don’t expect to see on a normal city commute.
Almost as soon as we arrived at the campsite we spotted a band of South American coatis, our first time seeing these cute, charismatic mammals on this trip.
There are apparently threatened species of jaguar in the park, although thankfully we didn’t see one!
